Our Lady J
I spoke with Our Lady J on Miss Ross Live recently as she shared so much of her musical journey which began in the church. The gospel sound still influences Our Lady J’s music today as she captivates audiences across the country with her live performances accompanied most times by a gospel choir. Visit OurLadyJ.com for more information.
Isis King
We all know her for being the first trans woman to appear on the widely popular America’s Next Top Model. Model/Mogul Tyra Banks discovered Isis during a photo shoot for a previous cycle. Isis most recently has appeared in the controversial ad campaign for American Apparel which no doubt lead to the nationwide casting call for Transgender Models. Isis King is a pioneer and travels the world using her voice and her story to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams no matter what their circumstances look like. Carmen Carrera
Could she be Victoria Secret’s 1st Transgender Model? I don’t know, but there is a petition on Change.org to make Carmen Carrera Victoria Secret’s first transgender model. We were first introduced to Carmen on Rupaul’s Drag Race and watched her blossom into the gorgeous woman she is today. Carmen’s very public transition has helped keep the conversation going within the LGBT community to understand the differences between a drag queen and a showgirl, between a trans woman and a drag queen.
