What an honor it was to attend this event as a Guest of my amazing friend and mentor Janet Mock. There was an incredible level of admiration in the room as they introduced her by playing her “It Get’s Better” video. Those who had not heard of her before seemed to be in utter awe. As she began her address, all notions of her being a transgender woman faded away, and you began to see her as a valid and groundbreaking choice to moderate a panel of such powerful and inspirational women.
